Lang is a Chinese contemporary artist who was born in 1988. He lives and works in Beijing, China. He is a creative artist who loves drawing, painting and designing characters. He also creates sculptures, toys and animations.
Lang believes that art is a wonderful way to express our feelings and ideas. His work is inspired by everyday life, personal experiences and human emotions. He likes exploring feelings such as happiness, sadness, love, fear, kindness and loneliness.
In 2021, Lang introduced one of his most famous creations: Hirono.
Who is Hirono?
Hirono is a little boy created by Lang. He has messy hair, big eyes and a very special expression. Sometimes he looks happy, sometimes sad, thoughtful or even a little grumpy!
But Hirono is much more than a cute character. He represents all the different emotions we experience in our lives.
Lang created Hirono while thinking about his young child and imagining the person he might become. As he drew, he realised that Hirono also represented his own feelings, memories and experiences.
Hirono teaches us something important: all our feelings matter! It is okay to feel happy, sad, scared, excited or confused. Every emotion is part of who we are.
Hirono and the World of Art Hirono appears in many different collections. In each one, he wears different clothes, explores new places and represents different emotions and experiences.
His designs can be funny, mysterious, beautiful or a little bit strange. Some look like characters from a dream or a fantasy story!
Hirono figures are often sold in special boxes called blind boxes. This means you don't know which figure is inside until you open the box!
Through Hirono, Lang shows us that art is not only about drawing beautiful things. Art can also tell stories, express feelings and help us understand ourselves and other people.
Let's Create!
Inspired by Lang and his character Hirono, we are going to become little artists!
We will explore different emotions, colours, shapes and characters. We will create our own artistic illustrations and discover how pictures can tell stories without using words.
Remember: There are no right or wrong feelings, and there is no only one way to make art. Be creative, use your imagination and enjoy the experience!
